Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Laughter

Our theme this week was laughter.  My favorite thing in the WHOLE world :)  I've always been the type of person who takes things lightly and tries to find the humor in every day stresses.  The following are images (with a short caption) of shoots I've had over the past year that make me giggle :)  All moments that were candid and showing true expressions of my clients.  I hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I do!

xoxo-
Trish
Photo 1:  Brandy and Dan on their wedding day... Brandy and Dan opted to do a "First look" before the ceremony, which turned out to produce one of my all time favorite photos.  This was not posed... this was really Dan's reaction to seeing his bride-to-be for the first time... Still makes me smile every time I look at it!

Photo 2:  This little guy came in to get his 1st haircut photographed.  It was my first time doing a haircut session, but turned out to be VERY enjoyable!  He giggled and laughed throughout the whole thing, but his favorite part was when Justin (His hair Stylist) broke out the hair dryer.  He couldn't take his eyes off it and LOVED it! It was SO adorable to watch!

Photo 3: Poor Emma.. She just wanted to give her new little brother a kiss and to tell him she loved him.  Chase was not very happy about his big sister's affection :)

Alright, so there isn't anything too funny about this shot, but when I remember what happened right after I took it, I laugh!  Dad was standing right in the "line of fire" (If you know what I mean) as we were about to do a shot of him holding his naked sleeping son... well, that's about the time this little guy decided to unleash the fury (#1 AND #2) all over his pops... His mom and I couldn't help but laugh as we rushed around to get dad cleaned up :)

Oh Lucy Jane... I have NO idea where she learned to pick off other's dinner plates...! ;) My husband may have an idea, though! haha.

Ahhh the twins... this one speaks for itself.  These cuties were the first newborns I ever photographed when I was just starting out my business.  They would be so good, and then one would get set off and they'd both scream together.  Too funny!

My sister's horse, Fritz.  He's a pretty stubborn guy!  My sister wanted me to take some photos of her riding him, so I tagged along at the barn.  While she was prepping him for his ride, I managed to get this glorious shot of his choppers.  I think he needs to see a dentist...
And last but not least... my biggest "Smash the Cake" mistake that will always make me smile.  When my daughter lucy turned one, I couldn't WAIT to do a smash the cake session with her.  We had my family and my in-laws outside while we gave her the awesomely decorated ice cream cake.  I thought that red and yellow frosting would be fun... Well, as you can see, red frosting wasn't the best color choice.  She ended up looking like a vampire baby!  I figured... if Twilight ever needs a vampire baby, this would make one heck of a headshot!

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Green

I've been loving this 60-70 degree weather in Chicago this week!  Today, my daughter and I went for a nice walk to the beach and up to the Andersonville shopping district to buy some yarn for my new hobby (Crocheting!).

I brought my camera along and snapped a few photos of the green things I saw :) I was hoping to see more buds on trees, but I supposed it's still a little early!

Next, hop on over to Marsette Guerrero's blog to see her Green photos for the week! http://mdgphotographyonline.blogspot.com/2012/03/project-52-week-10-green.html

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Reflection

This weeks theme was "reflections".  While I *reflected* on how this could be interpreted in a creative, artistic way, I (of course) waited until the last minute to take my reflective photos, and simplified it a little more than I had hoped for.  But oh well!  Today, my daughter and I visited Millennium Park with one of my good friends.  I figured, what better reflective landmark in the city of Chicago then THE BEAN!  It was a bit chilly so we didn't stay for too long, but here are a few Reflective shots taken here in downtown Chicago!

And now, hop on over to the blog of my FAVORITE Chicago Photographer,
Elaine Melko!

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Ruffles!

When this weeks "theme" was announced, I was a litte (Ok, A LOT) skeptical.  I have been the queen of telling people "Don't buy frilly, ruffley things for Lucy."  I'm not a girly girl, and I didn't plan on dressing up my mini-me as one, either... However, no matter what you do or say to friends and family, as soon as people find out you're having a girl, you get flooded with girly clothes, tutus, headbands, etc.  All those things have been wonderful, and worked out great as photography props, and I'm sure once she get's old enough to understand dress up, I'll be able to put all her fun "princess" clothes to good use :)

Today I got to bust out the goods, as I tried to show off my "Ruffle" theme!

A special thanks to my little girl for modeling all her clothes.  I'm pretty lucky to have such a cutie as a model :)

So, here she is! My 1 year old (Going on 16!) daughter, Lucy :)

And moving on to our next Ruffle exhibit, head on over to Michaelle Janet - Houston/Cypress Portrait Photography - http://www.michaellejanet.com/2012/02/project-52-week-7-ruffles/

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Valentine's Day

My little girl is growing up so quickly :)

Here are a few snap shots I took of her 1st Valentine's day "Brunch" With a nice young man by the name of Jude.  They are still at the age where they aren't into playing together, but by the end of the date, when no one was looking, we saw them sharing a few toys and throwing a few smiles around at each other.  It was such a fun little play date!

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Cold

I'm so happy to be a part of a 52 week project with 30 other extremely talented photographers across the country.  Every week we're assigned a photo "assignment", which is a simple word.  We have the week to challenge ourselves and capture moments and situations that "speak" that word to us.

Without telling you what our word of the week was (before seeing the pictures), here are a couple shots of my pooch, Peggy Sue.  I took these on the day last week that we actually had some snowfall.  I felt they described our word to a "T"

Enjoy!

Guess the theme??

It's "Cold"!

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography

Every parent wants to remember their child's first haircut :)  Normally, mom and dad bring along their point and shoot camera or their iPhone and snap a few shots, pick up a few curls, and call it a day!

I received an email from Baby "W"'s mom a few weeks ago asking about getting professional photos of his 1st haircut.   It was my first request for photos during a haircut, and honestly, I didn't know what to expect!  I've hear stories of babies and children crying and being completely terrified of getting their haircut, so even though I was unsure what to expect, I agreed to have him in my studio and hired a hair stylist to do this little guy's hair cut!

Baby "W" was FULL of smiles when he got there, which was GREAT!  I was just hoping he'd hold out for the cut.  It was our lucky day, because he LOVED getting his haircut!  He was such a little joy the entire time, and LOVED the hairdryer!

Here are a few peeks into his 1st cut at the studio!  If you or anyone you know might be interested in booking a 1st haircut in my studio, please contact me via my website, www.patriciaandersonphotography.com

Cheers!

Woo!

I'm finally moved into the new studio, and just finished up with my first shoot in the new photography studio! I couldn't be happier to be working with natural light!  It just casts a much softer and romantic look, plus it's much better for newborns, as the flash doesn't startle them

Baby "A" Slept literally 99% of the shoot, which is almost unheard of for newborn photos! She let me place her pretty much anywhere my camera wanted her, and even gave me a few smiles to capture for her very lucky mother and father :)

If you're in the Lincoln Park area, stop by 833 W. Webster Ave. and say hello to Elaine Melko or Myself.  We'll be spending lots of time in the new studio, so come on by!

Here are the sneak peeks from today's shoot with Baby "A"
