Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Reflection

This weeks theme was "reflections".  While I *reflected* on how this could be interpreted in a creative, artistic way, I (of course) waited until the last minute to take my reflective photos, and simplified it a little more than I had hoped for.  But oh well!  Today, my daughter and I visited Millennium Park with one of my good friends.  I figured, what better reflective landmark in the city of Chicago then THE BEAN!  It was a bit chilly so we didn't stay for too long, but here are a few Reflective shots taken here in downtown Chicago!

And now, hop on over to the blog of my FAVORITE Chicago Photographer,

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Ruffles!

When this weeks "theme" was announced, I was a litte (Ok, A LOT) skeptical.  I have been the queen of telling people "Don't buy frilly, ruffley things for Lucy."  I'm not a girly girl, and I didn't plan on dressing up my mini-me as one, either... However, no matter what you do or say to friends and family, as soon as people find out you're having a girl, you get flooded with girly clothes, tutus, headbands, etc.  All those things have been wonderful, and worked out great as photography props, and I'm sure once she get's old enough to understand dress up, I'll be able to put all her fun "princess" clothes to good use :)

Today I got to bust out the goods, as I tried to show off my "Ruffle" theme!

A special thanks to my little girl for modeling all her clothes.  I'm pretty lucky to have such a cutie as a model :)

So, here she is! My 1 year old (Going on 16!) daughter, Lucy :)

Saturday felt like an early spring day!

This has been such a mild winter here in Chicago, but I must say that I really miss outdoor photography!  I normally work with children and newborns, so in the winter months, I'm limited to where I can photograph the little ones.  Yesterday I had a 2 year old in for his 2 year birthday photos, and it was SO great outside (Sunny and mid 40's) we decided to snap a few shots of his Mini-Session outside of my photography studio!

Here are a few sneak peeks of this handsom little fella :)

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Valentine's Day

My little girl is growing up so quickly :)

Here are a few snap shots I took of her 1st Valentine's day "Brunch" With a nice young man by the name of Jude.  They are still at the age where they aren't into playing together, but by the end of the date, when no one was looking, we saw them sharing a few toys and throwing a few smiles around at each other.  It was such a fun little play date!

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography | Cold

I'm so happy to be a part of a 52 week project with 30 other extremely talented photographers across the country.  Every week we're assigned a photo "assignment", which is a simple word.  We have the week to challenge ourselves and capture moments and situations that "speak" that word to us.

Without telling you what our word of the week was (before seeing the pictures), here are a couple shots of my pooch, Peggy Sue.  I took these on the day last week that we actually had some snowfall.  I felt they described our word to a "T"

Enjoy!

Guess the theme??

It's "Cold"!

And next,  skip on over to Amy Grace's blog!

Chicago Photographer | Chicago Newborn Photographer | Chicago Children's Photographer | Patricia Anderson Photography

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Thursday so far :) I have a lot of friends and clients ask about the difference between the RAW photos and the touched up photos and if there is really much of a difference, and what exactly would a RAW photo look like compared to a touched up photo. I wanted to share with everyone a comparison of the two, just for those who would be curious to see a before and after. This particular photo was taken this past weekend at a wedding in Streamwood, IL. This is one of the Bride's maids modeling the earrings that were given to her for the wedding :)

Every parent wants to remember their child's first haircut :)  Normally, mom and dad bring along their point and shoot camera or their iPhone and snap a few shots, pick up a few curls, and call it a day!

I received an email from Baby "W"'s mom a few weeks ago asking about getting professional photos of his 1st haircut.   It was my first request for photos during a haircut, and honestly, I didn't know what to expect!  I've hear stories of babies and children crying and being completely terrified of getting their haircut, so even though I was unsure what to expect, I agreed to have him in my studio and hired a hair stylist to do this little guy's hair cut!

Baby "W" was FULL of smiles when he got there, which was GREAT!  I was just hoping he'd hold out for the cut.  It was our lucky day, because he LOVED getting his haircut!  He was such a little joy the entire time, and LOVED the hairdryer!

Here are a few peeks into his 1st cut at the studio!  If you or anyone you know might be interested in booking a 1st haircut in my studio, please contact me via my website, www.patriciaandersonphotography.com

Cheers!
